Description
Description
"Only Love Remains" by Anne Stokes embodies the timeless artistic archetype of the grieving angel, a figure deeply rooted in the Victorian-era tradition of funerary art and memento mori. Much like the iconic "Angel of Grief" created by sculptor William Wetmore Story in 1894, this piece captures a profound sense of sorrow, transcendence, and eternal remembrance, drawing upon the historical resonance of cemetery statuary designed to evoke comfort and contemplation for the bereaved. Emerging from the Gothic fantasy genre, the work serves as a modern meditation on the persistence of affection beyond mortality, belonging to themes of spiritual devotion, the intersection of the earthly and the ethereal, and the enduring power of memory in the face of loss.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
