The Charging Bull, often referred to as the Wall Street Bull, is a bronze sculpture located in the Financial District of Manhattan, New York City. The statue was created by the Italian-American artist Arturo Di Modica. It was conceived as a symbol of the strength and resilience of the American people and the financial markets.
The sculpture depicts a bull in a charging position with its head lowered and horns pointed forward. The muscular and powerful stance of the bull is intended to convey a sense of optimism and confidence in the financial future. Di Modica created the statue in the aftermath of the 1987 stock market crash as a gesture of faith in the strength of the U.S. economy.
